Bread / Lakhma



  • Add the yeast & sugar to the lukewarm water, stir & set aside for 5 minutes
  • Add the white flour, whole wheat flour & salt to the mixer with a dough hook
  • ​Add the oil
  • Add the yeast mixture
  • Add extra water or flour if needed
  • The dough should not stick to the bowl
  • ​Place the dough in a glass bowl with oil, cover with plastic wrap & cover with a tea towel for 2 hours
  • ​​Preheat the oven to 500F or 260C
  • ​Place pizza stone or cast iron skillet on the bottom rack in the oven and heat for 1/2 an hour
  • Flour the work surface and dust the dough with some flour 
  • ​Roll out into a log shape, divide into pieces
  • Make into balls and cover with a tea towel in a tray
  • Place a ball on the floured surface
  • Roll out into a circle shape
  • Toss the dough into the pizza stone
  • Heat for 3 minutes, then flip it and heat for another 3 minutes 
  • ​Place it & wrap it in a tea towel

4 cups White Flour
1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup Lukewarm Water
1 tablespoon Yeast
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Light Olive Oil
Extra flour for dusting
