Makloubi

Directions

Red rice
3 cups Basmati Long Grain Rice
4-5 tablespoons Tomato Paste
4 tablespoons Light Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Salt
Boiling Water

1 Strip of Rib Eye Steak
1 Large Egglant 
2 Capsicums 
5 Potatoes  
1 large Onion 
3 Tomatoes
Vegetable Oil
Salt to season



  • Make red rice recipe first (See Red Rice Recipe)
  • Slice all vegetables and Salt 
  • Slice the steak in strips
  • Add vegetable oil in a frypan
  • Fry the eggplants and potatoes
  • Remove the oil
  • Sauté tomatoes, onions, capsicums, and steak strips separately
  • Brush some oil on the bottom of the pot (so the makloubi comes out easily)
  • Layer a pot with the tomatoes first then eggplant, capsicum, potato, steak and then onion
  • Add the rice and pack in
  • Place a flat dish on top of the rice and warm on low heat for 10 minutes
  • Place a flat dish on top of the pot and flip
