454gms Phyllo Pastry
1 cup Butter (melted)
1 cup Crushed Walnuts
3 Eggs
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1 tablespoon Orange Blossom
1 teaspoon Cardamom

  • Preheat oven 350F or 180C
  • Mix the cardamom & orange blossom in the walnuts
  • Brush some butter in a 12 inch or 30cm baking pan
  • Place a damp cloth on top of the phyllo to prevent drying out
  • Brush one butter on a sheet of phyllo
  • Sprinkle some of the walnut mixture on top
  • Use your fingers to scrunch the phyllo
  • Turn into a spiral shape and place in the centre of the pan
  • Repeat & place around the centre each time
  • Brush some butter on top
  • Bake for 30 minutes
  • Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar & vanilla essence
  • Pour the custard over the phyllo
  • Sprinkle remaining walnut mixture on top
  • Bake for 30 minutes
  • Sprinkle icing sugar on top
  • Serve with ice-cream & ENJOY!
