  • Rinse & strain the rice
  • Place the rice in a saucepan
  • Add 1 cup of boiling water
  • Cover & cook on low heat until the water evaporates (15-20 minutes)
  • Add some milk in the cornstarch & mix until a smooth consistency
  • Add the sugar, salt, milk & vanilla essence in the saucepan and mix together
  • Add the cornstarch mixture & mix together until the mixture thickens
  • Turn off the heat
  • ​Use a ladle to spoon the rice pudding in glass bowls
  • Cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate for at least 4 hours
  • Garnish with crushed pistachios or cinnamon

Rice Pudding

1/4 cup Calrose Rice

(soaked in water for 1/2 an hour)

1 cup Milk

1 cup Boiling Water

1 tablespoon Corn Starch

1/4 cup Sugar

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
