Directions

2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 Potato (peeled, boiled & mashed)
2 tablespoons Light Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Lukewarm Water
2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
1 teaspoon Sugar
Vegetable Oil for frying

Ingredients

  • Add the yeast & sugar in the water
  • Mix & set aside for 5 minutes to activate
  • Add the flour in a mixer
  • Add the baking powder & salt
  • Place the dough hook
  • Mix together
  • Add the mashed potato & mix together
  • Add the oil
  • Add the yeast mixture
  • Knead until a sticky dough
  • Lightly grease a bowl
  • Place the dough in the bowl
  • Cover with plastic wrap & tea towel
  • Set aside to rise for 1 hour
  • Add vegetable oil in a saucepan on high heat
  • Oil your hands with some vegetable oil
  • Take a small ball of the dough
  • ​Place your thumb in the middle to make a hole
  • ​Place the stretched donut in the oil
  • Flip over after a few seconds until golden brown
  • ​Remove from the oil & place on a wire rack to cool
  • Place in sugar & cinnamon if you like them sweet
